Director of Quality – Adult Social Care

Job title: Head of Quality – Learning Disabilities & Autism – National Charity
Location: Hybrid with monthly travel to central London
Salary: £75,000 + Benefits (Flexibility for exceptional applications)

Compass Associates are proud to be exclusively partnered with a well-established charity, supporting circa 2000 adults across England with learning disabilities. Working closely alongside the Chief Quality Officer Compass are leading a search to appoint a Head of Quality on a one year fixed term contract.

In this role you will significantly contribute to organisation’s approach to quality and compliance, striving for high quality in care and regulatory compliance with in all care settings. This post is perfectly suited to a Head of Quality seeking to transition into a Director level post.

Candidates who are available immediately or have a heavily negotiable notice are preferred. A nursing pin or qualification is not required.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop quality assurance, audit, and governance frameworks, embedding systems and processes
• Support service managers in achieving and maintaining outstanding standards
• Oversee preparation for CQC inspections and follow-up actions
• Review and strengthen systems, processes, and reporting tools
• Drive service improvement across existing and new services

You will need

• Significant experience in adult social care – specifically learning disabilities and autism
• Strong background in quality assurance, governance, and audit
• Practical, hands-on approach with a visible leadership style
• Ability to identify issues and work collaboratively to resolve them
• Understanding of service culture and workforce engagement

Location: 

Hybrid, with monthly travel into London, this is a largely remote role where the vast bulk of your time will be spent home working.

Interview Process:                                               

• Applications will be reviewed by the senior leadership team most notably the chief quality officer
• Shortlisted candidates will attend an informal teams call, this will be more exploratory in nature and a chance to build rapport with key stakeholders.
• The final stage will be held in person from Compass’ London offices on the 2nd of march. The pannel will include the charities CEO and CQO.
