Veterinary Physiotherapist / Rehabilitation RVN
Up to £34,000 FTE + attractive benefits package
Part-time
South West Leeds
Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a strong interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, or a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist looking to work in a purpose-built specialist rehabilitation facility?
Are you passionate about mobility, pain management, and helping patients regain quality of life?
A rare opportunity has arisen to join a dedicated, purpose-built specialist rehabilitation wing on the outskirts of Leeds. This standalone facility offers advanced equipment, structured referral-based caseloads, and a focused rehabilitation environment separate from the main hospital setting.
The Specialist Rehabilitation Wing
This purpose-built centre provides advanced rehabilitation services to pets across the North of England. Working exclusively via veterinary referral, the service delivers structured, tailored rehabilitation programmes for patients requiring specialist recovery and mobility support.
The caseload includes:
-
Pre- and post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation
-
Neurological and spinal rehabilitation
-
Chronic pain management (including arthritis and joint disease)
-
Weight management and muscle rebuilding programmes
-
Performance and sporting dog conditioning
-
Long-term mobility and quality-of-life support
Each patient receives a detailed assessment and an individualised treatment plan to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.
All treatments are delivered under veterinary supervision within the specialist wing, ensuring safety, clinical oversight, and continuity of care.
Facilities & Equipment
The rehabilitation wing is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including:
-
Hydrotherapy
-
Extra-large underwater treadmill
-
Therapeutic ultrasound
-
Acupuncture
-
Massage therapy
-
Electrotherapy for pain relief and muscle maintenance (TSE, TENS, NMES)
-
Thermotherapy
-
Structured therapeutic exercise programmes
The underwater treadmill allows low-impact, warm-water rehabilitation suitable for patients of all sizes. Sessions are carefully monitored to ensure safety, particularly for those with cardiovascular or mobility limitations.
Advanced pain-relieving modalities significantly enhance comfort and mobility in chronic cases, often making a transformative difference to patients’ daily lives.
The Role
Working within the specialist rehabilitation wing, you will:
-
Deliver physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatments
-
Lead and assist hydrotherapy and underwater treadmill sessions
-
Support chronic pain and long-term mobility cases
-
Develop and implement tailored exercise and recovery programmes
-
Provide detailed client education and homecare guidance
-
Liaise with referring veterinary surgeons to optimise patient outcomes
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a focused rehabilitation environment where patient recovery and mobility are the sole priority.
The Team
You will be part of a dedicated rehabilitation team working alongside experienced veterinary professionals within a wider, supportive veterinary group. The culture is collaborative, progressive, and centred around high clinical standards and patient welfare.
We are looking for:
-
A Registered Veterinary Nurse with a strong interest or experience in rehabilitation, OR
-
A qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist (ACPAT / NAVP / IRVAP accredited or working towards accreditation)
You will be confident, proactive, and passionate about rehabilitation. Experience with hydrotherapy and therapeutic modalities is desirable, but a strong interest and commitment to developing within this field are equally valued.
What’s in it for you?
-
Competitive salary up to £34,000 FTE (DOE)
-
Generous CPD allowance with support for rehabilitation-focused development
-
Pension scheme
-
Paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS or relevant physiotherapy bodies)
-
Social events and strong emphasis on wellbeing
