We’re looking for an energetic and enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher to join a tight-knit team at our therapeutic-led Independent Special School for young people with complex needs.

 

About the Role

 

This role is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with a specialism in Science and teaching young people aged 11-18, ideally with experience in a specialist or SEN school setting.

 

The school prioritises a holistic, child-centred model where education and therapy go hand in hand to support each pupil’s development and well-being.

 

We want you to be an approachable, patient and passionate individual with a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners. You will be confident adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs and creating a supportive, structured classroom environment.

About You

  • A desire to support young people in an educational setting to achieve qualifications and fulfil their potential
  • Can bring energy and humour to the classroom and staff
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Can work effectively with Teaching Assistants and Therapists

Requirements  

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge / Specialism in Science   
  • Experience teaching young people with complex needs
  • Ability to deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and outcomes-based learning

Desirable

  • Engage in CPD and additional SEND training
  • Experience contributing to curriculum development

Location

          

Based in Lancashire, so would be commutable from Blackpool, Fleetwood, Preston, Manchester, Lancaster, Blackburn, Wigan, etc.
