About the Role

Compass Associates are pleased to be partnering with a highly respected not-for-profit healthcare provider to recruit a Physiotherapist for one of their specialist care services in the West Midlands.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Physiotherapist to join an organisation recognised for delivering exceptional person-centred care to older adults.

As the service Physiotherapist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting independence, rehabilitation and quality of life for residents. Alongside delivering direct physiotherapy interventions, you will provide clinical leadership across rehabilitation, falls prevention, mobility and moving & handling practice.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider multidisciplinary team, you will oversee key aspects of clinical governance relating to physiotherapy services, ensuring best practice, risk management and regulatory compliance are maintained throughout the service. You will act as a subject matter expert, supporting colleagues through education, coaching and clinical guidance to continuously improve resident outcomes.

This role would particularly suit a Physiotherapist with experience in community rehabilitation, intermediate care, frailty services, falls prevention, elderly care, discharge-to-assess pathways, community hospitals or hospital-based rehabilitation who is looking to take on a broader leadership and governance-focused position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and personalised treatment plans.
  • Support residents to maximise mobility, independence and physical potential through rehabilitation and enablement programmes.
  • Provide direct physiotherapy interventions and ongoing clinical support.

  • Lead on falls prevention strategies, audits and outcome monitoring.
  • Support incident reviews and contribute to investigations where required.
  • Monitor rehabilitation outcomes and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Train and empower care staff to implement physiotherapy recommendations within individual care plans.
  • Deliver competency-based training relating to mobility, moving and handling and rehabilitation best practice.
  • Oversee the management, maintenance and servicing of mobility equipment.
  • Lead risk assessments relating to mobility, transfers, hoisting and rehabilitation interventions.
  • Ensure moving and handling practices remain compliant with current legislation and best practice guidance.
  • Support compliance with regulatory standards, organisational policies and health and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with older adults and complex rehabilitation needs.
  • Experience within community rehabilitation, community hospitals, falls prevention, frailty, elderly care or rehabilitation settings.
  • Strong understanding of falls management, mobility assessment and rehabilitation pathways.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning, assessment and treatment planning skills.
  • Experience supporting, educating or mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
