Regional Operations Manager – Cleaning / Facilities Management

Regional Operations Manager required for a growing Cleaning and Facilities Management provider

Compass Associates are working on behalf of an established facilities management provider to recruit a Regional Operations Manager to support the growth of cleaning and soft FM services across the North East and wider North of England.

 

This is a newly created role suited to someone from a Cleaning, Soft FM, Facilities Management, Contract Management or Operations Management background who is confident managing contracts, mobilising new services and building strong client relationships.

 

The role will focus on developing cleaning and facilities management operations across the region, supporting new business opportunities, assisting with tender processes and ensuring newly awarded contracts are mobilised and delivered successfully.

 

This is not a pure sales role or a pure bid management role. The successful candidate will be operations-led, hands-on and commercially aware, with the ability to support growth while ensuring service delivery remains compliant, efficient and client-focused.

 

The Role

As Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery

of cleaning and soft FM contracts across the North East.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and supporting multi-site cleaning and facilities management contracts
  • Identifying and developing new regional business opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with public sector, NHS, education, local authority and private sector clients
  • Supporting tender processes with operational input and local market knowledge
  • Working with internal bid, HR, recruitment and health & safety teams
  • Leading mobilisation of newly awarded cleaning/FM contracts
  • Recruiting and structuring operational teams as contracts go live
  • Implementing KPIs, service standards and compliance processes
  • Managing early-stage contract performance and service delivery
  • Ensuring client satisfaction and resolving operational issues
  • Supporting account growth and long-term regional development
  • Providing market insight to support the wider growth strategy

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have experience within Cleaning, Soft FM, Facilities Management or Contract Management.

The client is looking for someone who is experienced, credible and confident working with clients, but still hands-on enough to help build a developing region from an early stage.

 

You will ideally have experience in:

  • Cleaning operations
  • Soft facilities management
  • Multi-site contract management
  • Contract mobilisation
  • Client relationship management
  • Tender support
  • Public sector contracts
  • NHS, healthcare, education, local authority, commercial or social housing cleaning
  • Service delivery, KPIs and compliance
  • Operational problem-solving
  • Account growth or business development exposure

Candidates from wider Facilities Management or Hard FM backgrounds may also be considered, provided they have relevant experience within cleaning, soft services or facilities-led contract delivery.

The role will cover the North East and wider North of England, with ideal candidate locations including:

The client is flexible on exact location for the right candidate, although regular visibility across the region and within a professional office environment will be important.

Package

  • Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum
  • Contract: Full-time, permanent
  • Benefits: Company benefits package
  • Mileage: 45p per mile for business travel
  • Bonus: Performance-related bonus structure to be confirmed

Interview Process

The interview process will consist of two stages:

  • Stage 1: Initial interview focused on background, experience, motivation, fit and achievements within cleaning/FM.
  • Stage 2: Operational interview focused on sector knowledge, contract mobilisation, service delivery and regional growth capability.
