Night Registered Veterinary Nurse

£34,000 – £36,000 DOE

Permanent | Average 36 Hours Per Week

Chichester

Are you an RVN who enjoys the pace and variety of Emergency and Critical Care?

Looking for a night role where your nursing skills are fully utilised, your wellbeing is genuinely valued and you'll have plenty of time away from work to recharge?

This proudly independent veterinary group is seeking a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its busy team near Chichester. Built around a philosophy of kindness, collaboration and exceptional patient care, this is an opportunity to become part of a practice where people are just as important as the patients they care for.

Rather than following a corporate model, the group has grown with a clear purpose: creating an environment where vets and nurses can rediscover their passion for the profession, enjoy genuine clinical freedom and build rewarding long-term careers. Teamwork, respect and professional development are at the heart of everything they do, creating a workplace where every individual feels valued and supported.

The Role

This is a rewarding overnight nursing position within a busy Emergency and Critical Care hospital, offering a varied caseload of emergency presentations alongside the ongoing care of hospitalised patients.

Working closely with the Night Veterinary Surgeon, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care throughout the night while ensuring smooth handovers to the daytime teams.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality inpatient nursing care
  • Monitoring emergency and critical care patients
  • Supporting emergency consultations and procedures
  • Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery where required
  • Administering medications and carrying out patient observations
  • Blood sampling, patient cannulation and laboratory work
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical handovers
  • Delivering compassionate client communication where appropriate
  • Working collaboratively with the wider hospital team to provide seamless patient care

This role would suit an RVN who enjoys the challenge and variety of ECC nursing and wants to work in an environment where nursing skills are recognised, encouraged and fully utilised.

Professional development is actively supported, with certificates and further training encouraged.

The Practice

This modern veterinary hospital forms part of a growing independent veterinary group that has built its reputation on protecting the traditional values of independent practice while investing heavily in its people, facilities and clinical standards.

The hospital manages a broad range of emergency, medical and surgical cases, working collaboratively with experienced colleagues across first opinion, emergency and referral services to provide exceptional patient care around the clock.

Purpose-built and thoughtfully designed, the hospital combines advanced facilities with a calm, welcoming environment, creating a reassuring experience for both clients and the clinical team.

The Team & Culture

One of the group's greatest strengths is its people.

The leadership team believes that when veterinary professionals feel respected, trusted and supported, they deliver the very best care for their patients. Rather than working towards corporate targets, the focus is on clinical excellence, collaboration and creating an environment where everyone enjoys coming to work.

Many members of the team have joined after working within larger organisations, attracted by the opportunity to step away from corporate pressures and reconnect with why they entered the profession in the first place.

Whether you're looking to develop your ECC knowledge, pursue further qualifications or simply work within a genuinely supportive team, you'll be encouraged to grow both personally and professionally.
