The Role:

As the Registered Service Manager, you will take overall responsibility for an established, 8-bed complex service specialising in Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Forensic Mental Health.

 

This is a fully-staffed, high-performing service operating with zero agency usage. You will oversee a strong and well-structured operational team, supported directly by 2 Deputy Managers, alongside a robust shift structure consisting of 10 staff on day shifts and 7 on night shifts. Your role will focus on ensuring the service operates efficiently, achieves statutory compliance and CQC quality excellence, and delivers positive, empowering outcomes for the 8 individuals residing in the service.

 

You will work closely with your Regional Leadership and local multi-disciplinary teams to promote quality assurance, manage service budgets, and inspire a culture of growth, safety, and high performance across the workforce.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enable the people supported within the service to lead fulfilling, independent lives and achieve their full potential.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower the staff team—including 2 Deputy Managers—ensuring regular supervision, personal growth, and team wellbeing are prioritised.
  • Maintain full CQC registration and ensure the service operates in full alignment with legal, clinical, statutory, and organisational obligations.
  • Oversee and effectively manage financial performance and service budgets while upholding exceptional standards of care.
  • Ensure comprehensive and accurate management reporting to ensure maximum compliance and quality assurance across the service.
  • Cultivate a positive, person-centred service culture that operates efficiently without reliance on agency staff.
  • Oversee robust risk assessments, positive behaviour support plans, and forensic care management strategies tailored to complex needs.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Registered Manager within adult social care / supported living or residential services.
  • Proven hands-on experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Forensic Mental Health background / complex needs.
  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (with a willingness to hold or work towards Level 5 Leadership & Management).
  • Registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or the ability to meet CQC registration requirements immediately.
  • Strong leadership, operational, financial, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexible and confident approach to operational leadership, including participating in an on-call rota as required.
  • A genuine passion for delivering trauma-informed, person-centred care to empower individuals with complex needs.

Working Pattern:

Full-time, permanent role (working on a shift/flexible basis as required by the service, including on-call responsibilities).
