Job Advert – Branch Manager 

 

Salary: £35,000 – £36,000 per year

About the Role

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Branch Manager to lead a medium-sized domiciliary care service in Stranraer. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee compliance, care quality, team performance, and business growth.

The service provides around 950 care hours per week, predominantly to Local Authority clients, with a smaller proportion of private packages. The team currently consists of a Care Coordinator, with a vacancy for a Team Leader – meaning strong leadership and people management skills are essential.

You will report into a supportive senior management team, with structured weekly governance and reporting in place to ensure the branch operates effectively and receives the right level of support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management and leadership of the branch.

  • Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate standards and internal policies.

  • Lead, support, and grow the branch team, including recruitment into vacant posts.

  • Drive branch growth while maintaining excellent quality of care.

  • Build relationships with Local Authority commissioners and private clients.

  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding of care staff, ensuring safe and compliant practice.

What we're looking for

  • At least 12 months experience in a Registered Manager/Branch Manager role within domiciliary care.

  • A proven track record of branch performance management and business growth.

  • Strong knowledge of compliance, quality assurance, and governance.

  • SVQ Level 4 Health & Social Care / Leadership & Management (or working towards).

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
