Overview:
Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a leading national social care provider in their search for a new Business Development Manager, to support strategic growth across the Adult Social Care portfolio in the South East of England.
This is a high-profile, strategic role focused on service development and stakeholder engagement across the adult social care sector. You will play a key part in shaping new services, enhancing occupancy, and driving sustainable relationships with Local Authorities, NHS partners, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).
The Role:
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced business development or commissioning professional with a strong track record of engaging with public sector stakeholders and developing community-based social care services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading on business planning and service development initiatives in partnership with operational leadership
- Acting as a commercial partner to regional teams to drive sustainable occupancy and maximise referrals
- Developing and managing strategic relationships with Local Authorities, ICBs, and third-party referrers
- Identifying opportunities for growth through tenders, spot contracts, and service reconfigurations
- Using data and market insights to inform service design and shape delivery models
- Providing regular market intelligence and strategic reporting to national leadership
You’ll work within a well-established national service development team, reporting into a Team Lead (previously placed by Compass Associates), and collaborating with fellow BDMs covering other UK regions.
About You:
We are seeking a collaborative and commercially astute professional with:
- Experience in business development, commissioning, or service design within social care or healthcare
- Strong relationships or working knowledge of Local Authority commissioning pathways
- Confidence working autonomously and influencing senior stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a solutions-focused approach
- Flexibility to travel across the region while operating remotely
Backgrounds in supported living, residential care, complex needs, or learning disabilities will be particularly well regarded.
