Compass Associates are working with a trusted client who are seeking an experienced and compassionate Home Manager to lead their care home in Liverpool. This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking care organisation committed to delivering outstanding, person-centred care.

 

As Home Manager, you will provide strong and consistent leadership, creating a safe and supportive environment where residents can thrive. You will have overall responsibility for care quality, regulatory compliance, team development, operational performance, and the ongoing success of the home.

You will champion dignity, respect, choice, and independence while leading your team through continuous improvement and positive change.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing for all residents.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team to achieve high standards of care and service delivery.
  • Conduct regular supervision, performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring of colleagues.
  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance to ensure care remains evidence-based and responsive to individual needs.
  • Maintain full compliance with regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, resources, occupancy, and operational performance effectively.

 

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience as a Home Manager within a residential, nursing, or elderly care setting.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing care teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to drive quality improvements and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, governance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing operational performance, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals.

 

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse qualification with active NMC registration.
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Experience managing a nursing home environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving positive regulatory inspection outcomes.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and change management.
  • Experience supporting service development and business growth initiatives.
