We are now looking for a Clinical Quality Officer to join the Quality team in a brand-new role with genuine scope to influence how quality is delivered across their clinics.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fertility Nurse or Fertility Midwife who wants to step into a quality-focused role while staying close to clinical practice, decision-making, and patient outcomes.
The Role
This isn’t a “tick-box” quality position. You’ll be trusted to:
- Challenge and improve clinical processes
- Drive quality culture, not just compliance
- Work closely with consultants and nursing teams
- Own investigations, audits, SOPs, and data
- See your work translate directly into safer, better patient care
You’ll join a supportive, growing Quality team led by a Nursing & Quality Director and Quality Manager who value collaboration, pragmatism, and fresh thinking.
Responsibilities
Clinical Quality & Governance
- Provide independent quality oversight across nursing and consultant team
- Ensure compliance with HFEA, CQC, ISO and internal QMS standard
- Review, update and improve SOPs across the IVF pathway
- Lead and support incident investigations, RCA, and trend analysis
- Support HFEA licence processes and CQC inspections
Audits, Data & Insight
- Coordinate and deliver clinical audits
- Collate, clean and analyse data from internal systems (e.g. Meditex)
- Produce and present clear, meaningful quality reports and KPIs
- Support pregnancy outcomes data submission to the HFEA
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with consultants, nurses and senior stakeholders
- Chair MDT meetings and contribute to governance forums
- Deliver and support quality-related training across clinical teams
- Help embed a strong, visible quality culture across both sites
Requirements
- Registered NMC Nurse or Midwife
- Significant IVF / fertility nursing experience
- Strong understanding of HFEA regulations and fertility pathways
- Confident managing challenging conversations with senior clinician
- Detail-oriented, organised, and improvement-focused
- Comfortable working with large spreadsheets and data analysis
- Good IT skills
- Experience reviewing SOPs, audits, incidents, or quality documentation
