This position as Superintendent CT Radiographer is a leadership position. We are seeking a personable and experienced Superintendent CT Radiographer to actively lead on the delivery of high-quality imaging services and the implementation of clinical governance, quality assurance, and operational excellence within the Imaging department. This position will play a pivotal role in overseeing CT services, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulatory and radiation safety requirements, and supporting the on-going development of outstanding patient-centred diagnostic care. We require an individual who can ensure that best practice standards become part of the day-to-day operation for the Imaging service, through collaboration, partnership and close working relationships with leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

 

You will be supported by the Imaging Manager but will also work closely with Consultant Radiologists, senior leadership, and the wider Imaging and Diagnostics teams to implement specific projects for service development, innovation, compliance, and performance improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Promoting clinical leadership throughout the CT service by maintaining optimal imaging standards and facilitating effective communication with radiologists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Creating, applying and monitoring governance and quality systems to ensure the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of CT imaging services in line with departmental and regulatory standards including IR(ME)R.
  • Promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and patient-centred care, using data, audit, and feedback to drive service enhancements.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the CT department’s clinical governance, quality assurance, and performance programmes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
  • Review and analyse quality, safety, operational, and performance data to identify trends, implement action plans, and improve patient outcomes, experience, and efficiency.
  • Produce high-quality reports on service performance, quality metrics, incidents, and improvement initiatives for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Support the department in achieving and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and inspection readiness.
  • Manage incidents, complaints, and service issues within the imaging service, ensuring they are investigated, resolved appropriately, and used as learning opportunities to improve practice.

 

What can you bring?

 

  • Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC registration.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, quality assurance, radiation safety, and risk management within imaging services.
  • Experience working in a senior radiography role within a CT or cross-sectional imaging environment.
  • Experience of regulatory compliance, inspections, and quality standards within healthcare imaging services.
  • IV Cannulation experience
