GP Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Veterinary Group

Up to £68,000 DOE

Full Time or Part Time | Permanent

Brighton

Are you a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys being a true GP vet, building long-term relationships with clients and patients, and having the clinical freedom to do what's right without targets or corporate pressures?

This established and growing independent veterinary group is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join one of its coastal practices. Built around continuity of care and a genuine commitment to patient welfare, this is an opportunity to become part of a practice where clinical freedom is respected, appointments are never rushed, and work-life balance is actively encouraged.

Their philosophy centres around providing a personal, relationship-led service, allowing pets and owners to see familiar faces and develop trust with the clinicians caring for them. This is a practice where quality of care comes before targets and where you'll have the autonomy to manage your cases from start to finish.

The Role

This position offers a varied and rewarding mix of consultations and surgery within a busy first-opinion environment.

Working primarily from one of the group's boutique coastal practices, you'll enjoy a balanced caseload consisting of consultations alongside two to three procedures each day. The caseload includes cats, dogs and small furries, with a mixture of routine and non-routine surgery and dentistry.

The practice is looking for a genuine all-round GP vet who enjoys the variety of first-opinion practice and values continuity of care, taking satisfaction in following cases through and developing lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Professional development is actively encouraged, with certificates and further training fully supported.

The Practice

Established almost 30 years ago, this proudly independent and multi-award-winning veterinary group has grown steadily while remaining true to the values upon which it was founded.

Operating across three modern sites, the practice has built its reputation on providing continuity of care and maintaining strong relationships with clients and their pets. Their philosophy centres around ensuring owners are able to see familiar veterinary and nursing teams wherever possible, creating a truly personal experience.

Facilities across the group include:

  • Digital radiography

  • Dental radiography

  • Ultrasound

  • In-house laboratory equipment including advanced diagnostic capabilities

  • Multiparameter monitoring

  • Dedicated surgical facilities

  • Dental suite with high-speed dental equipment

  • Oxygen generators

  • Height-adjustable tables

  • Air-conditioned clinical areas

A wide variety of cases are managed in-house, supported by experienced colleagues and a culture that prioritises quality of care over financial targets.

The Team & Culture

One of the practice's greatest strengths is its people. Staff retention is exceptional, with several team members having remained with the business for over a decade and some approaching 30 years of service.

Led by an experienced owner who places great importance on staff wellbeing and creating a positive workplace, the culture is built around kindness, collaboration and mutual support. Team members are encouraged to pursue their interests and enjoy genuine work-life balance.

You'll primarily be based within one of the group's boutique village practices, working alongside a small and highly supportive team where relationships matter and everyone contributes to creating an enjoyable working environment.

This is not a KPI-driven environment or a practice built around targets. Instead, the focus is on doing what's right for the patient, supporting colleagues and delivering exceptional client care.
