Registered Home Manager – Luxury New Build Care Home

The Opportunity

 

Compass Associates are supporting the appointment of a Registered Home Manager for a newly developed, high-specification nursing and residential care home in Buckinghamshire.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a modern, purpose-built service offering residential, nursing, dementia and short-stay care within a premium environment. The home benefits from excellent facilities, strong investment and a clear long-term vision.

 

The service is in its early growth phase, so this role is ideally suited to a commercially astute leader who can drive occupancy, build local relationships and embed strong operational foundations. Commissioning experience would be advantageous but is not essential for the right individual.

The Role

 

As Registered Home Manager, you will hold full responsibility for the operational, commercial and quality performance of the home.

 

Your focus will include:

  • Driving occupancy and developing a clear local marketing strategy
  • Building strong relationships with commissioners, hospitals and community stakeholders
  • Embedding high standards of nursing and dementia care
  • Leading, developing and stabilising the team as the home grows
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and preparing for inspection
  • Managing budgets, agency usage and overall financial performance

This role requires a visible, hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing quality care delivery with strong commercial awareness.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced Registered Manager with a background in elderly nursing and/or residential care. Nurse-qualified or non-nurse candidates will both be considered.

You will bring:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or equivalent)
  • Previous Registered Manager experience within nursing and/or dementia care is essential
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving or sustaining occupancy
  • Confidence in building referral pathways and external partnerships
  • A solid understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • A resilient, proactive leadership style suited to a growing service
  • Commissioning experience would be desirable, though not essential. What is essential is energy, visibility and a growth mindset.

Interview Process

 

Two-stage interview process including an informal introductory conversation followed by a formal interview with senior leadership.

 

Location

 

Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, with good access from High Wycombe, Thame, Princes Risborough, Leighton Buzzard, Tring and surrounding areas. Due to the location, a driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
