Night Manager - Dementia & Elderly services
Locations - Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
Salary - £52,000 - £56,000 pa dependant on experience
Are you an experienced care professional ready to take the next step in your leadership journey by joining one of the UK’s largest purpose-built dementia and elderly care homes as a compassionate and proactive Night Manager responsible for overseeing night operations and delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a safe, supportive environment?
Your Role:
As Night Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the home during evening, night, and early morning hours. Reporting to the Operational Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated care team, manage clinical and operational issues, and maintain the highest standards of care and compliance.
Responsibilities
• Provide visible and effective leadership throughout the night shift
• Oversee safe, person-centred care and manage any incidents or concerns appropriately
• Monitor residents’ health and ensure timely access to medical intervention
• Supervise, support, and develop night staff to maintain high performance
• Contribute to recruitment, rota planning, appraisals, and team management
• Ensure full compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding, and internal policies
• Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
Requirements
• NVQ/QCF Level 4/5 in Health & Social Care or Registered Nurse qualification (Desirable)
• Proven leadership experience in a health or social care setting
• Strong working knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead by example with professionalism, empathy, and resilience
• Confident managing clinical needs and overnight care operations
