Overview:
Compass Associates are proud to be working with a dynamic and inclusive specialist secondary school based in Shepherd's Bush, supporting students with a wide range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
We’re seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary therapy team from September 2025. The successful candidate will help shape and deliver innovative, student-led therapy programmes designed to promote independence, functional skills, emotional regulation, and wellbeing. You’ll be working in close collaboration with a team of professionals who are passionate about enabling every young person to achieve their full potential.
Working Pattern:

Monday to Wednesday: 8:15am – 4:00pm

Thursday: 8:15am – 4:30pm

Friday: 8:15am – 3:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
-
Deliver a combination of universal, targeted, and specialist OT interventions including 1:1 and group based therapies.

Address key areas such as sensory regulation, fine/gross motor skills, functional life skills, and school engagement

Collaborate with the existing therapy team: Speech and Language Therapist, Arts Therapist, Therapy Lead, and Therapy Assistant, alongside family and behaviour support staff

Contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) processes, including assessments and reports

Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with school and professional standards

Support and guide teaching staff on embedding OT strategies in daily classroom routines
Candidate Requirements:
-
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
-
Experience supporting children/young people with Autism and/or SEMH needs

Experience working in specialist education

Skilled in building trusting therapeutic relationships with students facing complex challenges

Comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting

Organised, resilient, and confident managing behavioural complexities
Interview Process:
- One-stage interview, ideally held face-to-face with the school’s Therapy Lead and a member of senior leadership. The conversation will explore your clinical experience, approach to therapy, and alignment with the school’s therapeutic ethos.
