About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a residential service for adults with complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and behaviours that may be challenging.
This is a senior leadership role overseeing a large staff team, including deputy managers, team leaders, and support workers. You will foster a positive, person-centred culture while ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality care delivery, and continuous improvement. The role requires a hands-on approach, with direct engagement with staff and residents, operational oversight, and active involvement in staff recruitment, rota management, and safeguarding.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a well-established service within a growing organisation, with significant autonomy to shape team culture and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead day-to-day operations of the residential service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.
-
Maintain full compliance with Social Care Wales registration requirements and regulatory standards, implementing action plans following audits and inspections.
-
Inspire, manage, and support a large multidisciplinary team, promoting staff wellbeing and professional development.
-
Oversee staff scheduling, recruitment, and resource management.
-
Collaborate with senior management, HR, and external professionals to align service delivery with organisational and regulatory goals.
-
Conduct regular visibility rounds to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for residents and staff.
-
Engage directly with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support individualised care plans and positive outcomes.
-
Actively participate in recruitment, induction, and development of staff.
Person Specification
-
Proven experience as a Registered Manager in residential or supported living setting, ideally with at least five years’ experience managing services for adults with complex needs.
-
Relevant management qualification such as NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent (essential).
-
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage a large team.
-
Comprehensive knowledge of CIW registration, compliance, and quality assurance processes.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff, residents, families, and external professionals.
-
Experience in staff recruitment, performance management, and team development.
-
Flexibility to work primarily Monday–Friday with shared on-call duties; full UK driving license and access to a vehicle essential due to rural location.
-
Resilient, proactive, and hands-on approach, with the ability to manage complex operational challenges.
What Is On Offer
-
Competitive salary up to £49,000 per year.
-
Company car for work-related travel.
-
Opportunity to lead and develop a growing service supporting adults with complex needs.
-
Collaborative, supportive management team and positive workplace culture.
-
Clear career progression opportunities within the organisation.
-
Autonomy to implement service improvements and community initiatives, enhancing outcomes for residents and staff.
