As an RCVS-accredited training practice, teaching and mentorship are at the heart of what they do. They are looking for a Clinical Coach who is enthusiastic about sharing knowledge, supporting student nurses, and helping to maintain the high standards that the practice is known for.

 

 

The Role

 

This varied nursing position offers exposure to a broad first-opinion caseload, allowing you to utilise your full range of nursing skills whilst playing a key role in developing student nurses and supporting the wider team.

 

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Nursing care for medical and surgical patients

  • Inpatient monitoring and hospital care

  • Anaesthesia and surgical nursing

  • Assisting with patient preparation and theatre procedures

  • Laboratory work within the on-site IDEXX laboratory

  • Pharmacy and stock management support

  • Supporting and mentoring Student Veterinary Nurses

  • Acting as a Clinical Coach and role model within the nursing team

  • Assisting with the development of clinical skills and nursing standards

  • Contributing to a positive learning environment for students and junior team members

  • Working collaboratively with vets, nurses, and support staff to deliver excellent patient care

The role is heavily focused on clinical nursing while also providing the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the development of future veterinary nurses.

Established in the 1950s, this proudly independent veterinary group operates across three practices in West London and has remained committed to providing exceptional patient care for over 75 years.

The Hounslow surgery is a well-equipped first-opinion practice offering a varied caseload and excellent clinical exposure.

 

Facilities include:

  • Brand-new IDEXX laboratory

  • Digital radiography

  • Ultrasound

  • Two sterile operating theatres

  • Comprehensive dental facilities

  • Separate cat and dog wards

  • Hospitalisation facilities

The Hounslow team consists of:

  • 4 Veterinary Surgeons

  • Registered Veterinary Nurses

  • Student Veterinary Nurses

  • Auxiliary Nurses

Working Pattern

  • Full-time position

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • 1 in 4 weekends on rotation

  • No out-of-hours work

  • No on-call requirements

  • A Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
