A highly respected private healthcare setting is seeking a Senior Addictions Therapist to join its established multidisciplinary team. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) sits within a leading residential service known for delivering exceptional mental health and addiction treatment across inpatient and outpatient pathways.
The service provides specialist support for individuals experiencing substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health challenges, and behavioural addictions. Working within a therapeutic, compassionate environment, you will contribute directly to clients’ recovery journeys through evidence-based, person-centred interventions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced clinical assessments, treatment planning, and integrative therapeutic interventions for patients with substance use disorders and complex mental health needs.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy, drawing from modalities such as trauma-informed approaches, psychodynamic therapy, humanistic models, IFS, and body-based methods.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to junior therapists, trainees, or caseworkers, ensuring high professional and ethical standards.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and external agencies to deliver coordinated, holistic care.
- Maintain high-quality and accurate clinical documentation, contribute to service development projects, participate in audits, and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Uphold a therapeutic environment that prioritises patient dignity, wellbeing, and long-term recovery.
Candidate Requirements
- Substantial experience supporting individuals with substance use disorders, ideally across both individual and group therapy settings.
- A recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy and full professional accreditation with a relevant body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC).
- Demonstrated competence in evidence-based interventions such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, or trauma-informed therapies.
- Strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in clinical supervision or leadership responsibilities is desirable.
- Resilience, emotional maturity, and the ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload with empathy and professionalism.
- Please note: Social work qualifications alone are not applicable for this position.
