Overview
An established, specialist healthcare service dedicated exclusively to women’s and children’s care is seeking a Senior / Principal Paediatric Neuropsychologist to join its multidisciplinary therapy team. This permanent position offers flexibility with full-time or part-time/job-share arrangements considered, Monday to Friday.
This is an opportunity to work within a highly skilled clinical environment supporting children with neurodevelopmental conditions, neurodisabilities, and complex medical needs. The role spans both inpatient and outpatient settings and is ideal for a Clinical Psychologist with strong neuropsychological expertise, experience in ASD assessment services, and a passion for supporting children and families through therapeutic intervention, diagnosis, and adjustment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments for diagnostic and treatment-planning purposes.
- Provide formulation, detailed reports, and therapeutic recommendations tailored to each child’s needs.
- Develop and deliver individualised treatment plans for children and their families.
- Offer emotional support, psychoeducation, and guidance to families navigating complex neurodisabilities or new diagnoses.
- Work collaboratively with a broad multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated, holistic care.
- Provide psychological consultation to colleagues across therapy, medical, and nursing teams.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and support continuous improvement.
- Deliver teaching, training, and supervision as appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
- Doctoral-level qualification in Clinical, Educational, or Child Psychology (Clinical Psychologist or equivalent).
- Chartered / practitioner psychologist status and registration with the relevant governing body.
- Substantial experience working with children with neurological deficits, neurodevelopmental conditions, or within ASD diagnostic pathways (ADOS training desirable).
- Strong grounding in contemporary child and adolescent therapeutic approaches.
- Skilled in neuropsychological assessment and confident in interpreting cognitive and behavioural profiles.
- Approachable, empathetic, and able to build meaningful therapeutic relationships with children and families.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage children of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Proven ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, holistic care.
