Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist – Mental Health Services

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Wellington, Somerset

About the Role:

 

As a Speech and Language Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Specialist Caseload Management: You will be responsible for managing a caseload involving assessment, planning, and delivering interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs, including dysphagia.

  • Group and One-to-One Therapy: Lead group sessions and provide one-to-one support to service users, helping them develop and improve speech and communication skills.

  • Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate specialist skills in managing complex cases, addressing cultural and linguistic differences, and creating effective strategies for each individual’s care.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals within the multidisciplinary team, including supporting families and carers.

  • Audit and Research: Contribute to audits and research in the provision of speech and language treatments, ensuring best practices are followed.

What We’re Looking For:

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • HCPC Registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.

  • Experience in managing a caseload that involves the assessment and treatment of dysphagia and communication disorders.

  • Experience working with families and carers to support service users.

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development to demonstrate your commitment to learning and growth.

  • Specialist knowledge in the area of mental health care services and speech and language therapy.
