Overview
Are you a natural leader who still wants to keep one foot firmly in clinical practice? We are looking for an experienced mental-health nurse who is ready to take full ownership of a small, specialist CAMHS Tier 4 eating-disorders ward (12–18 years). This is a hands-on Ward Manager role in which you will lead the nursing team, shape the therapeutic culture, drive clinical excellence, and directly influence the recovery journeys of young people with complex eating disorders and co-morbid mental-health presentations.

Responsibilities
- Provide strong clinical leadership and expertise on an acute CAMHS eating-disorders ward
- Lead, supervise and develop the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care and governance
- Act as a role model, promoting positive culture, recovery-focused practice and continuous learning
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (psychiatry, psychotherapy, dietetics, family therapy, education)
- Take designated charge of the ward and contribute to the senior on-call rota
- Manage the ward budget, staffing rotas, risk management and quality improvement initiatives
- Deliver clinical supervision and reflective practice to staff
- Ensure safe, evidence-based nursing care in line with NMC standards and clinical governance frameworks
Candidate Requirements
- Current NMC registration (RMN or RNLD – Mental Health / Learning Disability field)
- Significant post-registration experience in CAMHS, eating disorders or acute mental health settings (NHS or independent sector)
- Proven leadership experience (e.g. Deputy Ward Manager, Charge Nurse, Team Leader or existing Ward Manager)
- A passionate, compassionate and resilient approach with natural ability to motivate and develop teams
- Strong understanding of recovery-oriented practice, risk assessment and positive behavioural support
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships with young people, families and colleagues
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and continuous professional development
