Overview:
Compass Associates is pleased to be collaborating with a leading provider of specialist care for children on a nationwide scale in the UK. They specialise in bespoke schools and nurturing residential homes that meet each individual’s social and educational needs.
In order to help the provider’s deliver specialised and evidence-based treatments that are proven to help tackle the issues faced by its service users, we are working in partnership to headhunt for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join one of their specialist SEMH schools.
This unique school is dedicated to supporting children, in small classes of up to 6, enabling the provision of a warm environment that meets their sensory needs. The institution is rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED and excels in supporting students who have become school-phobic or have been out of education for an extended period, guiding them towards successful reintegration into the school system.
As the Senior OT, you'll become an integral part of a cohesive and experienced multidisciplinary team, which includes Speech & Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Music Therapists, and Counsellors. While you will be the sole on-site OT, your role involves supervising the delivery of universal care and therapy by core staff, with a small caseload of 1:1 therapy. Additional support will be provided by the Head Teacher and the Regional Lead OT.
Location:
The role is based at the specialist school in Hackney, North East London and is commutable from Stevenage, Bishop’s Stortford, Chelmsford, Brentwood, Rainham, Whitechapel, Ealing, Wembley, Watford and other surrounding towns and villages.
Criteria:
- A degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registration
- Education or CAMHS Experience at a minimum level of band 6
Shift Pattern:
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be expected to work 4 to 5 days per week (within Mon – Fri). This is quite flexible as applicants wanting 4 days or full-time are also welcome.
You will only be required during term-time, but will be paid across the full year.
Interview Process:
3 stages: 1st stage is an informal introductory virtual conversation as an opportunity to learn more about the role. This is followed by the 2nd stage – an informal visit at the school. The final stage is a more formal interview with a panel.
Salary and Benefits:
This Occupational Therapist position pays an equivalent of Band 7 to Band 8a, at £50,000 - £63,000 pro-rata, depending on experience and qualifications. It also includes an industry-leading benefit package as follows:
