Overview:

Compass Associates is proud to be partnering with one of the UK's leading providers of complex care services. With a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence, this organisation supports individuals with neurological conditions, acquired brain injuries, spinal injuries, and other complex needs across inpatient, residential, and home-based settings.

We are currently supporting their recruitment for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join a specialist inpatient neuro-rehabilitation hospital for adults. This modern, therapy-led centre provides evidence-based, outcome-focused treatment across two specialist units and is supported by an established multi-disciplinary team.

You will take a leadership role in guiding the Occupational Therapy team, overseeing clinical delivery, team development, and service improvement; while maintaining a small, manageable caseload of your own.

 

Location:

This neurological rehab hospital is based in South East London, and is commutable from areas including Putney, Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley, Croydon, Sutton, Dartford, Maidstone, Sidcup, Orpington, Hackney, Dagenham and wider Greater London, Kent and Surrey.

 

Criteria:

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
  • Minimum Band 7 level and recent experience in a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Demonstrable leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
  • Confident in managing complex caseloads and leading service delivery
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills

 

Shift Pattern:

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week. Hybrid working for admin/report writing can be discussed.

 

Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Formal interview with Head of Therapies, another clinical lead, and a senior OT (onsite preferred, virtual available)
  • Stage 2: Informal virtual meeting with Senior Management (Hospital Director & Medical Director)

 

Salary & Benefits:

This role offers a salary of £57,500 – £63,216 per annum, depending on experience, along with an industry-leading benefit package:

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Occupational Therapy (OT) team, supervising junior staff and students, managing the service, and supporting team development.
  • Conducting thorough assessments, planning and delivering rehabilitation programs, prescribing equipment, and ensuring safe discharge planning.
  • Working closely with the wider MDT to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and effective implementation of interventions.
  • Educating families/carers, attending key meetings, and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring practice meets professional standards (RCOT/HCPC), maintaining accurate records, and upholding data protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Delivering internal training and engaging in continuous professional development.
