Residential Home Manager | Elderly Residential Care Home | Maidstone, Kent

 

Location: Maidstone, Kent
Salary: £58,000 per annum
Contracted Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shifts: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Requirement: NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and compassionate Residential Home Manager to lead a well-established and welcoming elderly care service in Kent, supporting residents who require both residential and dementia care.

 

The home is set within a peaceful village community and offers a calm, homely atmosphere with a focus on dignity, independence, and emotional well-being. Residents benefit from bright, airy communal spaces, cosy lounges, attractive gardens, and a vibrant activity programme that encourages social engagement and meaningful occupation. The environment has been thoughtfully designed to support individuals living with dementia, promoting familiarity, safety, and comfort.

 

This long standing service is supported by a dedicated, loyal staff team who take pride in delivering person centred care. Team members receive regular training in key areas such as dementia best practice, infection control, manual handling, and safeguarding, ensuring consistently high standards across the home. Strong links with local healthcare professionals, including community nurses and GPs, help ensure residents receive responsive, holistic care that meets their changing needs.

 

As the Residential Home Manager, you will take full responsibility for the leadership, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of the service, ensuring compliance, driving quality, and cultivating a warm, supportive culture for both residents and staff.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a values-driven Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to take the next step, joining a well-regarded service with strong senior support.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the care team to deliver exceptional person centred care
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the service, ensuring full CQC compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in care quality, safety, and service delivery
  • Manage budgets, occupancy, staffing levels, and resource planning
  • Foster a positive, inclusive culture based on respect, teamwork, and compassion
  • Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and medication processes
  • Build excellent relationships with residents, families, and external healthcare partners
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and homely environment for all residents

 

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care or working towards
  • Proven experience as a Registered, Residential, or Deputy Manager in elderly care
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and compliance expectations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Compassionate, hands on management style
  • Experience in dementia and elderly care essential
  • Strong financial and operational awareness desirable

Location

This role is based in Maidstone, Kent and is easily commutable from:
Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne, Ashford, Chatham, Rochester, and Paddock Wood.
