Head of Partnerships / National Business Development Lead
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Uncapped Commission
Location: National (Hybrid, 1 day per week in Worcester Park)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Partnerships / National Business Development Lead to drive national growth across the private-pay care market. This is a senior, strategic role focused on building high-impact partnerships with private hospitals, healthcare providers, retirement living groups, and key influencers involved in hospital discharge and self-funded care referrals.
The role combines national business development, strategic partnerships, and team leadership. You will oversee a small team of Regional BDMs while personally leading the development of major national partnerships with organisations such as private hospital groups, clinical networks, and complementary service providers.This position is ideal for someone who has successfully built partnerships on a national scale and can confidently work with CEOs, executives, and senior clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships & National Growth

Build and manage partnerships with private hospitals, rehabilitation providers, retirement communities, private physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and selected NHS discharge pathways.

Develop national relationships with senior decision-makers including executives, discharge teams, case managers, and social workers.

Position the organisation as the preferred provider of private homecare and hospital discharge support.
Business Development Leadership

Lead national business development strategy with a focus on high-value, high-impact targets.

Oversee and support a team of 3–5 Regional Business Development Managers.

Ensure consistency in messaging, partnership quality, and commercial performance across all regions.
Commercial & Negotiation

Lead negotiations with major private healthcare groups and partner organisations.

Develop commercial proposals and partnership agreements that support growth and client acquisition.

Work closely with senior leadership to deliver revenue targets and partnership outputs.
Market Engagement

Represent the organisation at networking events, conferences, and healthcare forums.

Build strong relationships with GP federations, private clinicians, and community health networks.

Identify opportunities for strategic collaborations that improve client experience and add value to service delivery.
Client Relationship Management

Support key client interactions where required, including face-to-face meetings with high-value prospects.

Ensure excellent handovers to care managers and smooth onboarding of new referrals.
Experience & Skills Required
Essential
-
Proven experience managing national partnerships or large-scale business development within health or social care.

Strong track record of delivering commercial partnerships or referral growth.

Confident engaging with CEOs, executives, and senior healthcare professionals.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to design and deliver national business development strategies.

Experience influencing hospital discharge pathways or self-funded care referrals.
Desirable

Existing network within private hospitals, ICBs, therapists, or healthcare providers.

Background in homecare, private care, healthcare partnerships, or medical services.

Experience managing or mentoring business development teams.

Ability to manage the full client journey from initial enquiry to service handover.
