High Intensity Wellbeing Counsellor – EMDR Qualified

Location: Manchester/Hybrid

Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
Salary: £35,000 plus excellent benefits

 

Remit

Compass Associates is proudly working with the leading mental health & wellbeing provider to recruit for a High Intensity Wellbeing Counsellor to join them on a full time permanent basis. The role is based in the Manchester office but hybrid working is a possibility.

 

You will manage a caseload of clients via video counselling sessions, where you will provide EMDR, CBT or Solution Focussed Brief Therapy approaches to clients who have been referred via their EAP service. The role will also require at least 1 day per week, working on the 24/7 helpline where you’d provide in the moment, emotional support and signposting to callers in emotional distress or mental health crisis. During each call, you will conduct clinical and risk assessments, provide appropriate advice and signposting to relevant services and professionals, and maintain accurate clinical records.

 

Location

This role is based at the Manchester office which is commutable from Oldham, Bury, Bolton, Stockport, Knutsford, Altrincham, Rochdale, Warrington, Chorley, Ashton-under-Lyne, Prestwich, Eccles, Salford and surrounding areas.

Essential Criteria

  • To be BACP accredited or eligible for accreditation with a minimum of 400 clinical hours
  • EMDR training is essential
  • Qualifications in CBT, TF-CBT, CFT or SFT are desirable but not essential
  • 12 months helpline experience
  • High level of computer literacy, including on the phone and online CRM systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the resilience, drive and passion to support individuals in distress.
  • Experience working in a telephone-based or helpline role would be highly advantageous
  • Previous experience working with individuals who are high risk or with suicidal ideation
