Deputy Manager (Days) – Elderly Care Home
Location: Leek, Staffordshire
Contract: Full-time | Permanent | 37.5 hours per week
Working Hours: 08:00am - 16:30pm (shifts can very with being on call on the weekends)
Salary: £36,222 per annum

About the Role
We’re proud to be working with a respected not-for-profit care provider offering high-quality residential and dementia care for older adults in a warm, homely environment. The service is committed to promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life, with a focus on personalised support and specialist dementia care.
They are now seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join their leadership team and play a vital role in maintaining care quality, staff development, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support with assessments, referrals, and care planning
Ensure safe, compliant care aligned with safeguarding and CQC standards
Promote and monitor high standards of person-centred care
Manage staffing rotas, absence, recruitment, and on-call duties
Supervise staff training, one-to-ones, appraisals, and team meetings
Handle complaints and lead on service improvement initiatives
Oversee medication processes, budget monitoring, and stock control
Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
Champion a positive workplace culture and act as a mentor to staff
Candidate Requirements
Strong background in elderly residential care, ideally in a leadership or management role
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 4 preferred
Experience in non-clinical operational management
Good understanding of CQC regulations, KLOEs, and quality monitoring
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and leadership skills
Compassionate and committed to improving the lives of older people
