Senior Care Assistant (Nights) – Elderly Care Home
Location: Hartlepool
Contract: Full-time | Permanent | 34.5 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £12.75 per hour
Annual Salary: Up to £26,126 (based on contracted hours)

About the Role

We are pleased to be partnering with a reputable care home provider with multiple services across the North East. They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Care Assistant for one of their medium-sized residential homes in Hartlepool.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working night shifts (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM). You’ll work closely with the Home Manager and play a key supervisory role, supporting the care team to ensure high-quality, person-centred care is delivered throughout the night.

This is an ideal role for someone with a genuine passion for elderly care and previous senior care experience in a residential or care home setting.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support care staff on night shifts

  • Deliver hands-on personal care in a respectful and dignified manner

  • Ensure all residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met

  • Administer and record medication (if trained and competent)

  • Monitor and update care plans and ensure all records are accurate

  • Promote safeguarding and maintain health and safety procedures

  • Act as a point of contact for staff, residents, and families during the night

Candidate Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (required)

  • NVQ Level 3 (preferred)

  • Previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant

  • Background in elderly care or residential care homes

  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to delivering high standards of care
