Overview:
Compass Associates is proudly working with a highly respected independent healthcare provider to recruit a Senior Specialist Speech & Language Therapist for a well established neurological rehabilitation service in West Sussex. This permanent opportunity is ideal for experienced SLTs with a passion for working with adults affected by acquired brain injuries (ABI).
You’ll be part of a dedicated, collaborative multi-disciplinary team that includes psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and nursing - all working within a neurobehavioural rehabilitation model.
You’ll lead the SLT provision on site, contributing to assessments, intervention planning, therapy delivery (including dysphagia), staff training, and quality improvement. The role offers flexibility, excellent support, and the chance to shape the SLT service in a genuinely person-centred environment.
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive assessments and evidence based therapy to adults with ABI
Lead on communication and swallowing (dysphagia) therapy provision
Develop and review care plans and rehabilitation goals
Collaborate with families, carers, and external professionals
Provide SLT training to the wider MDT and support staff
Maintain professional standards in documentation and practice
Contribute to audit, service development, and team leadership
Candidate Requirements:
Degree in Speech & Language Therapy (essential)
HCPC registration (essential)
Achieved Dysphagia Competencies (essential)
Minimum 4 years’ experience (hospital or residential settings) (essential)
Strong MDT working and leadership ability
Experience in a neurological or ABI setting
Membership of RCSLT
Postgraduate training in clinical or leadership areas
