Compass Associates were exclusively mandated in the search for an Operations Director for a small not for profit elderly care provider.
Compass Associates were exclusively mandated for this role due to our track record within our current partnership with this particular client. At the time this vacancy came to fruition, Compass Associates Elderly Care Division were mandating a Home Manager role. Always impressed with our quality of work, the CEO personally approached us about the Operations Director opportunity.
As a business, Compass Associates prides itself on understanding our clients’ culture and brand identity and feels that clients’ truly benefit from the honest, supportive and transparent service that we always put at the heart of what we do so were delighted to support the client further.
Compass Associates have worked with this client on a long-term basis so have a good understanding of the client’s business objectives. Although we ensured that we understood the specific requirements of this role by ensuring good communications with the client on the brief.
The client’s business offers three services of care which the Operations Director would need to oversee. The client preferred the ideal candidate to have charity experience over operations and director level experience to complement the experiences the CEO did and did not have. However, some operations and clinical experience was essential so that the successful candidate would be able to support business growth.
Initially, we agreed to place the Operations Director role on an interim basis with a three stage interview process. Compass Associates shortlisted five candidates for a first stage panel interview, a second stage CEO interview and a final informal chat and introduction to the business. The client narrowed down to one candidate who accepted the offer first time.
The overall process, from first stage client discussions to candidate offer, took around two weeks to complete. After the interim stage, the client offered the current incumbent the role on a permanent basis to which they accepted instantly. Both client and candidate felt they had perfectly matched experiences, aims and personality.
