Compass Associates were exclusively appointed to recruit all clinical and management staff for a brand-new hospital launched by a Surgical Hospital provider, which opened in Summer 2018.
Compass Associates were mandated the exclusive project following a rigorous interview process, and were ultimately given the project owing to our ability to demonstrate how the team would be responsible for providing a strategic, phased approach to staffing, ensuring qualified members of staff were recruited and onboarded in line with specific timelines. The unique blend of specialist talent required, in conjunction to the cultural fit component ensured the project was full of challenges to deliver on time for the hospital being opened.
In order to ensure a smooth and effective process, a team of 5 specialist consultants met with key surgical hospital stakeholders to understand the business mission, vision, values, story and culture. The internal marketing team for Compass created purpose built candidate packs and marketing collateral to ensure all candidates had a consistent journey through the process, and to create a compelling employee brand proposition for all prospective candidates engaging in the process for this brand-new hospital. Candidates subsequently commented that it was really useful in terms of understanding what made Schoen different to a traditional surgical hospital and ensured an efficient use of hiring management’s time with a view to having a fully staff team trained for soft and hard launch.
For the entire project, Compass Associates submitted 70 CVs which resulted in 53 interviews, delivering interview attendance rates of 94%. There were 16 placements made all in line with the private surgical hospital’s stated service level agreement, and the hospital was able to open on time as planned.
