Children’s Registered Manager - Complex Trauma

Overview

Compass Associates are delighted to partner with a well-respected, nationwide provider of high-quality children’s social care services with over 50 homes in the UK. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a well-established, 5-bedded Ofsted-rated Good residential home, providing high quality care for children aged 10 – 17 who have backgrounds of childhood trauma.

 

The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the young people in your care. You will lead and inspire a dedicated staff team, work in close collaboration with the organisation’s quality team, and report directly to the Regional Manager to drive service excellence.

 

This role requires a strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks and children’s residential regulations, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills. A solid grasp of operational and commercial responsibilities within a care setting is also essential.        

 

Salary and Benefits

A salary of £55,000 per annum with benefits including:

Essential Criteria

  • Has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
  • At least 2 years in a role supervising and managing staff.
  • Has their NVQ Level 3 In Children and Young People's Workforce.
  • Has their Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
  • Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Has achieved a “Good” or “Outstanding” grade within recent Ofsted Inspections.
  • Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
  • Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.

 

Location

The role is located in Colchester and is commutable from Chelmsford, Ipswich, Harwich and Clacton-on-Sea.

 

Interview Process

Stage 1 – Initial screening call with Assistant Directors of residential.

Stage 2 – Formal interview with the Assistant Directors of residential.

Stage 3 – Final interview with the Director of residential.
