Clinical Lead – Addictions

£50,500 - £62,500 per annum DOE
Full-time, permanent (35 hours per week)
Compass Associates is proud to be partnering with a well-established health and social care charity delivering specialist drug and alcohol recovery services across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to provide clinical oversight within their Derby-based service.
You will be joining an established and values-driven organisation that supports individuals experiencing substance use challenges through a person-centred approach, combining harm reduction, treatment, recovery support, and long-term wellbeing interventions.
As Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical leadership to an experienced multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, safe and effective care for service users accessing drug and alcohol treatment pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of prescribing clinicians and complex needs nurses
- Support safe and effective clinical practice through supervision, consultation and reflective practice
- Maintain oversight of clinical standards, SOP compliance and regulatory requirements
- Continue clinical practice through regular prescribing clinics
- Support incident reviews, safeguarding processes and drug/alcohol-related death case reviews
- Work collaboratively with operational leaders, commissioners and wider healthcare partners
- Promote a strengths-based, person-centred approach to recovery and treatment

Essential Criteria:
- Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN) or Pharmacist with an independent prescribing qualification
- Significant experience working within addiction/mental health services
- Strong clinical credibility with experience supporting or supervising experienced practitioners
- Understanding of opioid substitution treatment and wider drug and alcohol treatment pathways
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience providing clinical supervision within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working within non-NHS healthcare environments
- Previous involvement in service development, audits or clinical governance activities
Interview Process:
1st stage: Teams interview with the Clinical Director and a senior service representative
2nd stage: In-person visit to the service
