Salary:                         £60,000 - £75,000 DOE + Significant Commissioning Bonus
Hours:                          40 hours per week
Annual Leave:              22 days + 8 bank holidays (loyalty enhancements with service)

We are exclusively looking to appoint a Commissioning Manager for a state-of-the-art 80-bed nursing, residential and dementia care home, which will be part of a fast-growing, privately backed elderly care provider located in the Bedale area of North Yorkshire.

 

This flagship development will be the benchmark for future openings across the group - combining luxury accommodation, cutting-edge digital systems, and a person-centred culture designed to deliver exceptional outcomes for residents and staff alike.

 

The successful candidate will take ownership of the entire commissioning process, from CQC registration and workforce recruitment to culture-building, community engagement, and phased occupancy growth. Working closely with the COO and senior leadership team, you’ll have the autonomy to shape and lead every stage of the home’s journey.

 

The Candidate

This opportunity would suit a dynamic, commercially astute Registered Manager with a proven record of commissioning new elderly-care services (ideally 70+ beds).

 

While an RGN qualification is preferred, it is not essential. The successful candidate will be an engaging, values-led leader who combines person-centred care with commercial excellence and the ability to represent the home within an affluent local community.

 

You’ll need:

  • Demonstrable experience commissioning new care homes and achieving CQC registration
  • Strong commercial awareness, with understanding of private self-funding markets
  • Proven success driving occupancy and brand reputation in luxury settings
  • Confident leadership and people-management skills
  • Familiarity with digital care systems (PCS, Radar, eMAR or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building with families, professionals and regulators
  • A proactive, visible leadership style that inspires confidence and trust

This organisation operates a growing portfolio of modern, purpose-built elderly-care centres across the North and Midlands and is entering a phase of ambitious, sustainable growth, supported by private investment.

 

Led by a newly appointed and experienced executive team - including a COO with national provider experience - the group is driven by a clear mission: to combine luxury accommodation, exceptional care quality, and empowering leadership.

 

With plans to expand from seven homes to twenty-five over the coming years, this is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage and contribute to the provider’s next chapter of development. High performing managers will have the opportunity to progress into future commissioning and regional leadership roles as new sites come online.

 

The Package

  • £60,000 - £75,000
  • Significant and achievable bonus, linked to commissioning milestones and occupancy growth
  • 22 days AL + 8 bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Systems: PCS, Radar, eMAR (Access)

The home is based in the Bedale area (DL8 postcode) - ideally positioned within North Yorkshire’s affluent commuter belt.

 

It is easily accessible from:
Ripon, Northallerton, Harrogate, Richmond, Catterick Garrison, Thirsk, Leyburn, Boroughbridge, Darlington, Knaresborough, Wetherby, York, Easingwold, Stokesley, Masham, and North Leeds.

 

With strong road links to the A1(M) and surrounding North Yorkshire and County Durham regions, this is a highly commutable location for experienced managers based across the wider area.

 

The Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an initial informal interview with the COO, followed by a face-to-face meeting with senior leadership. No presentation required at this stage.
