Overview
Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with one of the UK’s leading independent, family-run healthcare providers. This organisation is experiencing rapid national growth, opening new services in Elderly and Specialist Care, including provisions for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, and Acquired Brain Injury. Together, we are seeking a Commissioning Home Manager based in South London, or someone willing to commute to the area, to lead the opening and management of a new, large care home. This service will specialise in supporting adults aged 18 and over with Mental Health conditions, Learning Disabilities, Acquired Brain Injury or Spinal Cord Injury, and Dementia.
In this role, you don’t necessarily need to be an experienced Commissioning Manager—though having that background would be advantageous. However, a solid understanding of the commissioning process and prior experience or exposure to how it operates will be essential. However, support will be provided by a regional commissioning manager.
Responsibilities include
- Oversee the entire commissioning journey, from construction handover through to a successful launch.
- Achieve CQC registration and uphold the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
- Recruit, motivate, and develop a talented team united by a commitment to outstanding care.
- Build lasting relationships with commissioners, local authorities, and healthcare partners to drive sustainable occupancy and referral growth.
- Cultivate a supportive, person-centred environment where individuals with nursing, dementia, mental health, and complex care needs can flourish.
Candidate Background
You will need to be an experienced Registered Manager, ideally with an RMN qualification. However, applicants with alternative professional registrations or strong non-clinical backgrounds within similar care settings will also be considered. It is essential that you have previously held CQC registration for a large service of approximately 50 or more beds
- Strong awareness of commissioning processes
- Excellent understanding of CQC standards, with a proven record of achieving at least a “Good” rating
- Extensive management experience within healthcare settings
- Experienced in supporting individuals with complex needs, including Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injury, Mental Health conditions, Challenging Behaviour, Learning Disabilities, and Dementia care
- Demonstrated leadership and operational management expertise across multidisciplinary teams
Location
Ideally located in South London, this service benefits from excellent transport connections across the area, including Clapham, Peckham, and Surrey. Additionally, it is conveniently served by a nearby train station, providing easy access to most of London and the surrounding regions.
Salary and Benefits
Earn up to £85,000 per year, depending on experience, with the opportunity to receive an annual bonus of up to 40% based on performance. Additional company benefits included.
