Overview:

Compass Associates are proud to be working with a new, highly specialist mental health and wellbeing provider to recruit Consultant Psychiatrists to join their clinical team in the UAE.

 

The service is currently in development and has been designed as a world-class specialist environment focused on mental health, psychological wellbeing, personal development and long-term wellness. Providing structured, individualised programmes, the service will take a multidisciplinary approach to supporting individuals throughout their clinical journey.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Psychiatrists to join the service ahead of its launch and play a key role in establishing and delivering high-quality psychiatric care within a specialist clinical environment.

 

Working within a multidisciplinary team, Psychiatrists will collaborate closely with Physicians, Psychologists, Nurses, Social Worker and wider clinical and wellbeing teams.

 

Successful candidates will contribute to clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk management and ongoing patient wellbeing, while also supporting the development of clinical processes, pathways and standards of care within the new service.

 

This role would suit an experienced Psychiatrist looking to relocate internationally and be part of a new specialist mental health and wellbeing centre. You will work directly with individuals while also having the opportunity to help shape the clinical service from the outset.

 

Salary and Benefits:

This Consultant Psychiatrist position is offering £200,000 – £220,000 GBP equivalent tax free per annum, depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including:

Location:

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity requiring international relocation, with the role based on site. The facility is located in the UAE, between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, meaning candidates can choose to live in either city or the surrounding areas.

 

Work Pattern:

Full-time positions are available, with clinicians working across the different areas of the service as required. The role will involve providing comprehensive psychiatric input within a multidisciplinary residential clinical environment, supporting patients with a range of mental health and psychological wellbeing needs.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Consultant-level Psychiatrist
  • GMC Registered on the Specialist Register with CCT in Psychiatry, or equivalent international qualification
  • Previous experience working within mental health, psychiatry or specialist clinical services
  • Arabic speaking is essential
  • Candidates must be eligible to meet the relevant UAE licensing requirements

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and clinical management of patients within the service
  • Assess, diagnose and manage a range of complex mental health and psychological presentations
  • Develop and regularly review individualised treatment and wellbeing plans
  • Provide clinical input into risk assessment and management
  • Work collaboratively with psychologists, nurses, physicians and wider clinical colleagues within the MDT
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, clinical discussions and treatment planning
  • Monitor patient progress throughout their programme of care
  • Support safe and effective prescribing and medication management where required
  • Contribute to the development of clinical pathways, policies and processes within the new service
  • Support effective clinical governance and high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement as the service continues to grow
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure documentation meets relevant regulatory and professional standards
  • Work in accordance with UAE regulatory requirements and professional standards

Interview Process:

  • This will be a competency-based interview process, incorporating a case study and simulation-based questions.
  • The interview will focus on clinical assessment, psychiatric management, risk, multidisciplinary working, patient wellbeing, and the candidate's ability to operate effectively within a developing clinical service.
  • Arabic language competency will be assessed conversationally as part of the interview process.
