Deputy Home Manager – Nursing
Elderly Nursing Home | Bicester, Oxfordshire (OX26)
Salary: £46,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time | 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday | 08:30 – 17:00
Qualification Required: Active NMC PIN

 

About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and driven Deputy Home Manager (Nursing) to join the leadership team at a purpose-built elderly nursing home in Bicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically strong nurse with leadership experience to step into a role where you can shape the standard of care, support your team, and contribute to the continued success of the home.

As Deputy, you’ll support the Home Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the home. You will lead on rota planning, recruitment, induction, training, and performance management while ensuring residents' clinical needs are continually assessed and met to the highest standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with the operational and clinical management of the home

  • Oversee staff rotas, recruitment, and training

  • Lead and mentor the nursing and care team, ensuring compliance with best practices

  • Ensure care plans are person-centred and regularly reviewed

  • Promote and maintain occupancy levels through strong relationships and reputation

  • Uphold high standards across regulatory, safety, and quality areas

  • Contribute to financial and marketing initiatives

About You

  • Active NMC PIN (RGN/RMN)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – willing to work towards Level 4/5

  • Experience in a senior or team leader nursing role within elderly care

  • Previous experience in staff management and leading teams in a multi-disciplinary care setting

  • Financial and commercial awareness with the ability to manage occupancy and budgets

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills

  • Compassionate and person-centred approach to care
