Deputy Manager – Elderly Nursing Home

Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected provider of elderly care, who are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join their established service in Jersey.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Lead, Home Manager, Clinical Deputy Manager or Non-Clinical Deputy Manager with extensive elderly care home experience to take a senior leadership role within a well-established service.
The role would suit an experienced Deputy Manager who is looking for their next challenge and would be interested in relocating to Jersey.
The successful candidate must have significant experience working within an elderly care home, with strong knowledge of dementia care and the ability to provide effective leadership across a care setting.
The Role
You will work closely with the wider management team to provide strong leadership across the service, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Providing visible leadership and support to the care and nursing teams.
- Supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day management of the service.
- Maintaining high standards of person-centred elderly care.
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality dementia care.
- Monitoring care standards and ensuring residents receive safe and effective support.
- Supporting care planning, risk assessments and quality processes.
- Contributing to audits, governance and continuous improvement.
- Supporting staff development, supervision and performance management.
- Building strong relationships with residents, relatives and professionals.
- Working collaboratively with the wider regional management team.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager who has a strong background within elderly care and is confident providing leadership within a care home environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous Deputy Manager experience within an elderly care or nursing home setting.
- Extensive experience working within elderly care.
- Strong knowledge and experience of dementia care.
- Previous Clinical Deputy Manager or Non-Clinical Deputy Manager experience.
- Experience leading and supporting care teams.
- A strong understanding of care standards, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with care planning, risk assessments, audits and quality processes.
- The ability to provide visible and effective leadership.
- A genuine passion for delivering high-quality elderly care.
- A willingness to relocate to Jersey where applicable.
Please note: Candidates coming solely from a hospital or community background without significant care home experience will not be suitable for this position.

Interview Process
Stage 1: Interview with the Home Manager – competency and question-and-answer based
Stage 2: Interview with the Regional Director – scenario-based interview, including approximately 15 minutes to prepare and complete scenarios
