Exclusive Registered Manager | Elderly Residential & Dementia Care
Brecon, Wales
Package: Salary Up to £47,500 + Bonus
Are you looking for a role where you can genuinely influence the future of a care home?
Would you thrive within a values-led organisation where culture, people and care come before corporate process?
Do you enjoy developing teams, embedding systems and building upon positive momentum rather than firefighting constant crises?
Then this could be the role for you!
We are proud to be exclusively partnering with an established, family-owned care provider in their search for a Registered Manager for a well-regarded residential and dementia care home in Mid Wales.
This represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager, or an ambitious care home leader, to join a service that has already undergone significant positive change and is now looking for the right leader to guide it through the next stage of its journey.
The Home
The home provides residential and dementia care for approximately 30 residents and occupies a prominent position within its local community.
Over the past two years, the service has undergone a substantial transformation. Significant investment has been made into governance, compliance, environmental improvements and operational structure, resulting in a much stronger position with regulators and local stakeholders.
The most recent regulatory outcome saw the service achieve strong ratings across all key areas, with one domain recognised as being on the cusp of Outstanding.
Occupancy remains strong, the home enjoys a positive reputation locally and there is a clear vision for continued development.
The ownership team are passionate about creating a home that sits at the heart of the community whilst providing exceptional standards of care for residents and a supportive environment for staff.
Further investment continues throughout the home, including ongoing refurbishment and redecoration works, with dementia-friendly design principles helping to create an environment that is both welcoming and supportive for residents.
The Opportunity
This is not a role that requires someone to come in and overhaul everything.
Instead, the successful candidate will be responsible for building upon the excellent foundations already in place, ensuring sustainable systems and processes continue to develop whilst maintaining the positive culture that has been established.
The organisation is looking for a leader who can bring structure, accountability and consistency whilst recognising the importance of preserving the values and culture that underpin the service.
You will inherit a committed and caring team, including two long-standing Deputy Managers who have been instrumental in the home's recent progress and remain highly respected by both residents and staff.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Overall operational leadership of the home
- Continuing to strengthen governance and compliance standards
- Developing systems, processes and accountability structures
- Coaching, mentoring and developing the wider team
- Supporting occupancy and commercial performance
- Building relationships across the local community
- Ensuring exceptional resident outcomes
- Maintaining positive relationships with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
- Supporting the home's ambition to become a recognised hub within the local community
You will work closely with a highly supportive ownership team who remain actively invested in the success of the service and are committed to providing both short and long-term support.
Who are we looking for ?
We are keen to speak with experienced Registered Managers or strong care home leaders with a proven ability to lead teams through periods of positive change.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Previous elderly care leadership experience
- Strong understanding of compliance and governance
- The ability to develop and empower teams
- A calm, thoughtful and people-centric leadership style
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to balance operational, commercial and quality priorities
- Experience working with Welsh regulations and CIW requirements would be advantageous
- Experience implementing systems, processes and operational improvements
- A genuine passion for developing people and creating positive workplace cultures
This role will suit somebody who believes in bringing people on the journey, rather than imposing change, and who takes pride in creating a positive culture where residents and staff can thrive.
The successful candidate will be someone who leads with a "come with me" approach, rather than a "do as I say" mentality.
What's On Offer?
- Salary up to £47,500
- Performance-related bonus of up to £2,500
- Supportive and visible ownership team
- Strong existing management structure
- Ongoing investment into the home and wider service

- Opportunity to shape the next chapter of an already successful turnaround story
