Head of Dementia Care | Elderly Nursing Home | Trowbridge, Wiltshire

 

Location: Trowbridge, Wiltshire
Contract: Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (including shifts and weekends)
Salary: £34,000 per annum

About the Role

A well-established care provider is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Dementia Care to join their specialist nursing home in Trowbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated leader to drive best practice, develop dementia care services, and provide outstanding support to residents living with dementia in sometimes complex and challenging situations.

 

You’ll take responsibility for the operational management of dementia households, ensuring colleagues are confident, competent, and supported across all shifts. Working closely with residents, families, Admiral Nurses, and external professionals, you will champion person-centred care, promote independence, and help residents continue to live meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support colleagues across dementia households
• Ensure delivery of person-centred care that meets individual needs
• Provide operational management, guidance, and best practice support
• Liaise effectively with families, carers, external agencies, and health professionals
• Develop and implement care plans promoting independence and wellbeing
• Promote high standards of dementia care and compliance with regulatory requirements

 

Candidate Requirements

• QCF Level 3 in Dementia Care (or equivalent) – willingness to work towards further qualifications in leadership if not yet achieved
• Proven track record of leading and managing a team within a dementia care setting
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
• Positive role model with natural leadership qualities and the ability to motivate teams

 

Location

This nursing home is based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, and is commutable from: Bath, Chippenham, Melksham, Devizes, Frome, Westbury, Warminster, and surrounding areas.
