Compass Associates are proud to be working with a valued client in their recruitment for an experienced Head of Sales & Marketing to join the senior leadership team of a well-established luxury elderly care provider operating across Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the organisation’s commercial strategy, taking responsibility for driving occupancy growth, increasing private fee revenue, and strengthening brand presence across a portfolio of premium care homes. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leadership teams, supporting enquiry generation, improving conversion performance, and ensuring a consistent customer journey from initial enquiry through to admission. This role will combine both strategic leadership and operational involvement, with the successful individual expected to work collaboratively across the organisation while also maintaining a hands-on approach to sales performance, marketing initiatives, and relationship management.

 

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience operating at Head of Sales, Head of Marketing, Commercial Director, or Regional Sales level, Head of Business Development or similar - ideally within the private elderly care sector or another premium, customer-focused environment. You will be confident supporting and influencing senior stakeholders, while also providing leadership and direction to home-based teams responsible for occupancy and customer relations. Experience working across multi-site operations and driving commercial performance within a luxury care setting will be essential.

 

The role requires someone who can identify growth opportunities, develop and implement effective sales strategies, and monitor performance against targets to ensure continued commercial success across the portfolio.

 

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on commercial leader who is comfortable balancing strategic planning with operational involvement. You will possess strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, alongside a solid understanding of digital marketing, enquiry management, and sales conversion processes within the care sector.

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience within a senior sales and marketing leadership role.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience within the private care home sector.
  • Previous experience supporting regional or multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving occupancy growth and achieving commercial targets.
  • Strong understanding of enquiry management and conversion strategies.
  • Experience within digital marketing, including PPC, SEO, website management and content creation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using CRM systems.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.

 

Location

The role is based in Hertfordshire with regular travel required across surrounding regions including Buckinghamshire, Essex, and East London. The position is commutable from: St Albans, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Borehamwood, Luton, Enfield, Chelmsford and surrounding areas.
