Compass Associates are working in partnership with an established elderly care provider to appoint an experienced Interim Home Manager for a nursing-led care home in the Glasgow area.

This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced operational leader with a proven track record of stabilising services, leading teams through periods of change and delivering measurable quality improvements.

The successful candidate will inherit a service requiring strong, visible leadership and will be expected to hit the ground running. This is not a developmental opportunity and would best suit an experienced Home Manager with turnaround expertise.

THE ROLE

As Interim Home Manager, you will take full responsibility for the operational leadership of the home, providing immediate stability while driving improvements across quality, compliance, staffing and overall service performance.

Working closely with senior operational leadership, you will assess current performance, implement robust action plans and build confidence across the staff team, residents and external stakeholders.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring resilience, credibility and the ability to make informed decisions at pace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide immediate operational leadership and stability across the service

• Lead quality improvement and service recovery plans

• Drive regulatory compliance and inspection readiness

• Support, coach and develop the management and wider staff team

• Improve clinical governance and standards of care

• Manage occupancy, staffing, agency usage and financial performance

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, commissioners and external professionals

• Deliver a positive culture focused on accountability, compassion and continuous improvement

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Previous experience as a Home Manager within an elderly nursing care home

• Demonstrable experience leading turnaround, improvement or recovery programmes

• Registered Nurse qualification is preferred but not essential for candidates with the right operational experience

• Strong knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards and regulatory compliance

• Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, occupancy and workforce performance

• Calm, decisive and resilient leadership style

• Able to establish credibility quickly and lead teams through change

This role requires an experienced leader capable of making an immediate impact. Applications are welcomed from candidates with a proven track record of improving underperforming services within elderly care.

PACKAGE

• Salary up to £65,000 (pro rata)

• Immediate start available
