Interim Registered Manager | Elderly Nursing Care Home
Location: Braintree
Rate: Up to £500 per day
Contract: 6-Month Interim Assignment
Are you an experienced Registered Home Manager looking for your next interim challenge?
Do you have the operational, governance and people leadership skills to stabilise and improve an established nursing home?
Are you able to drive positive change whilst bringing an existing team with you on the journey?
Then this could be the opportunity for you!
We are working with an established elderly care provider seeking an experienced Interim Home Manager to lead a medium sized nursing home for an initial period of approximately six months.
This role will require an experienced and hands-on Registered Manager who can quickly assess the current position, strengthen governance and compliance, and work alongside the existing team to implement meaningful and sustainable improvements.
A key part of the brief will be ensuring that any required changes are delivered in the right way. The successful candidate will need to bring the team with them, improving engagement, morale and accountability rather than simply imposing change from above.
Key Responsibilities
-
Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational and regulatory management of a Medium Sized elderly nursing home.
-
Strengthen governance, quality assurance and compliance systems to ensure the home is operating in line with CQC requirements.
-
Lead the existing staff team through a period of change, ensuring they understand expectations and are actively engaged in the improvement process.
-
Improve communication, clarity and accountability across the home.
-
Maintain a visible and hands-on leadership style, spending time on the floor and working alongside the team.
-
Listen to staff concerns and feedback whilst providing clear direction and expectations.
-
Support improvements in staff engagement, morale and willingness to support the wider operational needs of the home.
-
Work autonomously whilst maintaining effective communication with the Operations Director and wider senior management team.
-
Ensure the home remains safe, well-led and compliant throughout the interim period.
The Ideal Candidate
-
Proven and recent experience as a Registered Home Manager within elderly care is essential.
-
Experience of managing a nursing home is required.
-
Nurse qualification would be advantageous, although it is not essential, as the home has clinical management support in place.
-
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance and quality assurance.
-
Demonstrable experience of identifying areas for improvement and successfully implementing change.
-
A strong people leader who understands how to bring an established team with them during periods of change.
-
Visible, hands-on and approachable, with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and support the team.
-
Able to provide clear direction and communicate expectations effectively.
-
Commercially aware, with experience of managing and improving occupancy.
-
Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of the overall performance of the home.
-
Candidates with permanent Home Manager backgrounds who are moving into interim work will be considered, providing they can demonstrate a genuine commitment to the assignment.
