Registered Home Manager | Luxury Residential & Dementia Care Home

Lincoln, Lincolnshire

Salary:                         £65,000 per annum + Discretionary Occupancy Bonus

Are you an experienced Home Manager who has successfully grown occupancy within a newly commissioned or developing care home?

Can you combine strong commercial awareness with robust governance, visible leadership and a genuine ability to build a high-performing team?

Would you like the opportunity to shape the culture, workforce and future success of a premium, purpose-built care home from an early stage of its development?

Then this could be the position for you!

Compass Associates are working with an established and growing elderly care provider seeking an experienced Registered Home Manager to lead a recently commissioned, purpose-built residential and dementia care home in the Lincoln area.

The home provides accommodation for approximately 65+ residents and is still in the early stages of its occupancy journey. Currently operating across two floors with approximately 20 residents, the incoming Home Manager will have a significant opportunity to influence the future direction of the service, grow occupancy and build the team as additional areas of the home become operational.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Home Manager who enjoys the growth and commissioning phase of a care home and can balance commercial development with excellent care delivery, regulatory compliance and workforce engagement.

The successful candidate will inherit an established management structure including a Deputy Manager and Care Manager, alongside senior carers and care colleagues, providing a strong foundation from which to develop the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full operational responsibility for a large, purpose-built residential and dementia care home.
  • Develop and execute a clear strategy to significantly increase occupancy from its current position.
  • Build the home's reputation locally and establish strong relationships with prospective residents, families, professionals and referral partners.
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-quality workforce as occupancy increases and additional capacity becomes operational.
  • Lead and develop the existing Deputy Manager, Care Manager and wider leadership team.
  • Maintain consistently high standards across governance, safeguarding, compliance and quality assurance.
  • Embed robust systems and processes capable of supporting the home as it grows towards full occupancy.
  • Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care within a premium environment.
  • Maintain strong financial and commercial oversight, ensuring occupancy growth is delivered sustainably.
  • Create a visible, positive and accountable culture where colleagues feel supported but standards and expectations remain clear.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a successful Registered Home Manager within elderly residential and/or dementia care.
  • Previous commissioning or significant occupancy-growth experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Candidates without direct commissioning experience will be considered where they can demonstrate a strong track record of successfully managing and growing an established care home.
  • Demonstrable evidence of increasing occupancy and strengthening a home's commercial performance.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, quality assurance and governance frameworks.
  • Comfortable operating within an organisation where governance standards and internal scrutiny are particularly robust.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to develop a predominantly private-pay service.
  • Experienced in recruiting, building and developing care teams during periods of growth.
  • A confident and credible leader who can provide direction without adopting an overly authoritarian management style.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage colleagues, residents, relatives and senior stakeholders.
  • Able to balance immediate operational priorities with the longer-term development of the home.

The Home

  • Modern, purpose-built care home commissioned during 2026.
  • Approximately 65+ beds, providing residential and dementia care.
  • Currently operating across two floors with approximately 20 residents, creating substantial scope for further growth.
  • Predominantly focused on the private-pay market, although Local Authority placements can be considered where appropriate fee arrangements are achieved.
  • Established management structure including a Deputy Manager and Care Manager.
  • Strong staffing model designed to ensure appropriate management and leadership presence throughout the day.
  • Premium facilities including en-suite accommodation, landscaped gardens, cinema, salon and dedicated activity spaces.
  • Technology-led care environment including sensor-based systems designed to enhance resident safety while maintaining privacy and independence.
  • Significant opportunity for the successful manager to influence recruitment, culture and the ongoing development of the service.

The service offers residential, dementia and respite care within a premium environment and operates an all-inclusive private-fee model.

Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced, commercially focused Registered Home Manager to take ownership of a recently commissioned residential and dementia care home in Lincolnshire.

This is considerably more than a traditional maintenance-management position. With occupancy still at an early stage, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build the team, develop the culture, establish the home's reputation and lead its journey towards full occupancy.
