Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Mental Health Rehabilitation
Salary: £43,897 per annum
Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Summary: 

 

Compass Associates are working with a reputable independent mental health hospital in the Stapleford Tawney area (near Romford), who are looking to appoint an Occupational Therapist to join their team. This hospital provides a specialist neuro-rehabilitation and complex mental health pathway for adults. The role will see you work within a skilled MDT to deliver functional and holistic interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and long term recovery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive OT assessments (functional, sensory, cognitive, and environmental)

  • Develop and deliver personalised treatment plans and goal-focused interventions

  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions – ADLs, leisure skills, vocational activities, coping strategies

  • Recommend adaptive equipment and support environmental modifications

  • Collaborate effectively with MDT members including Psychiatry, Nursing, Psychology, and Therapy Assistants

  • Provide supervision to junior staff or OT students as required

  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with regulatory standards

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (essential)

  • HCPC Registration (essential)

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in a relevant setting (e.g. neurorehab, mental health, secure care) (essential)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Able to manage challenging behaviour and emotionally complex situations

  • Passionate about person-centred care and functional recovery

  • Experience in secure, neuro-rehab, or brain injury settings

  • Manual handling and risk assessment knowledge

  • Group facilitation experience
