Summary:
Compass Associates are working with a reputable independent mental health hospital in the Stapleford Tawney area (near Romford), who are looking to appoint an Occupational Therapist to join their team. This hospital provides a specialist neuro-rehabilitation and complex mental health pathway for adults. The role will see you work within a skilled MDT to deliver functional and holistic interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and long term recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete comprehensive OT assessments (functional, sensory, cognitive, and environmental)
Develop and deliver personalised treatment plans and goal-focused interventions
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions – ADLs, leisure skills, vocational activities, coping strategies
Recommend adaptive equipment and support environmental modifications
Collaborate effectively with MDT members including Psychiatry, Nursing, Psychology, and Therapy Assistants
Provide supervision to junior staff or OT students as required
Maintain accurate documentation in line with regulatory standards
Candidate Requirements:
BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (essential)
HCPC Registration (essential)
Minimum 1 year’s experience in a relevant setting (e.g. neurorehab, mental health, secure care) (essential)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Able to manage challenging behaviour and emotionally complex situations
Passionate about person-centred care and functional recovery
Experience in secure, neuro-rehab, or brain injury settings
Manual handling and risk assessment knowledge
Group facilitation experience
