Overview

Compass Associates is proud to partner with a respected provider of specialist inpatient care in their search for a Practice Educator to join a purpose-built neurological service located near Hitchin.

This centre offers tailored rehabilitation and long-term care for adults with complex neurological conditions, including acquired brain injuries and progressive illnesses. With a strong multidisciplinary team and a focus on clinical quality, the service aims to provide person-centred, goal-oriented care that maximises independence and well-being.

This newly created position is key to embedding best practice across the clinical workforce, supporting ongoing education, induction, and service improvement through coaching, competency assessment, and reflective learning.

The Role

As the Practice Educator, you’ll be responsible for leading the development, delivery, and evaluation of training across the clinical team. Your focus will be on ensuring the highest standards of care through structured education pathways, competency frameworks, and professional development plans.

Working in a supernumerary capacity, you will support both registered and unregistered staff across the service, contributing to a positive learning culture and aligning training with regulatory, strategic, and clinical priorities. You’ll also help implement quality improvement initiatives and participate in policy development and service audits.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician with a strong foundation in adult learning theory and a proactive, coaching-led approach to development.

Criteria

• Registered Clinical Professional (NMC / HCPC)
• Educated to degree level or working towards (Level 6)
• Completed Practice Supervisor / Assessor training
• Experience within specialist or complex care environments
• Skilled in training delivery, competency assessments, and adult learning methods
• Understanding of quality assurance processes, clinical audit, and improvement frameworks
• Knowledge of current national care standards and evidence-based clinical practice
• Confident in mentoring, induction, and professional support
