Job Title: Practice Manager – ADHD & Autism Assessment Service

Overview:
Compass works with an independent healthcare provider who delivers specialist assessment services for neurodevelopmental conditions including ADHD and autism. The organisation operates within a regulated clinical environment and delivers services in partnership with NHS commissioners.
Due to continued growth and new commissioning opportunities, the provider seeks a Practice Manager to support the leadership team with the operational running and development of the service. Demand for assessments increases significantly over the coming months as new contracts progress, which creates the need for a strong operational lead.
The Practice Manager plays a key role in building the service infrastructure. The position supports workforce planning, operational processes, and service performance while the organisation increases clinical capacity.
This role suits an experienced operational leader who understands how healthcare services grow and scale. The successful candidate works closely with the senior leadership team and helps shape the service as the organisation expands over the coming years.
The Successful Candidate:
As Practice Manager, you will report directly to the senior leadership team and take ownership of the operational and commercial running of the service. You will manage staffing, recruitment, financial forecasting, KPI delivery, and ICB contract compliance. The leadership team is looking for someone who operates with autonomy, thinks commercially, and has a track record of scaling services within a startup or growth environment. You will be expected to contribute at board level when required and support the development of the business over the next 5 years. This is not a step-up role. The business needs someone who has done this before and can deliver from day one.
Salary:
The salary for the role sits up to £70,000 per annum based on experience.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 3 years experience in an operational leadership role within healthcare or clinical services
- Experience managing teams and operational delivery within regulated healthcare environments
- Commercial acumen and the ability to operate independently
- Strong commercial awareness including financial forecasting, KPI management, and service performance monitoring
- Experience working with NHS or Integrated Care Board commissioned services
- Demonstrated experience scaling services, managing recruitment, and leading workforce planning
- Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to operate autonomously
Location:
The role sits within South Yorkshire and remains accessible from Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, and surrounding areas.
