Compass Associates is proud to be working with a well-established provider of specialist care and support services, to recruit for a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join their clinical team.
This is a full time permanent role which works across three Yorkshire locations (two supported living services and one residential home) where you’ll support adults with complex needs, challenging behaviours, learning disabilities and autism. Referrals are received from site, following which you will conduct assessments and interventions for communication and dysphagia needs, in both 1:1 and group sessions. Working within a PBS framework, you will support individuals to develop skills which will allow them to be as independent as possible.
You will be part of a wider multidisciplinary team which includes Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Psychologists, Behaviour Analysts, PBS Specialists, Clinical Psychologists and Therapy Assistants. The team meets on a weekly basis to review referrals, discuss shared care plans, receive clinical supervision and participate in CPD.

Essential criteria
- HCPC registration as a qualified Speech & Language Therapist
- Experience working with adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism, associated mental health conditions and dysphagia
- UK driving licence and own car to travel between services
- Dysphagia trained (desirable)
Location
This role cover three services which are located near York, Barnsley and Scunthorpe and you will be based at whichever service is closest to where you live. Locations closest to the services include Leeds, Wakefield, York, Scunthorpe, Mexborough, Wetherby, Thirsk, Rotherham, Sheffield, Thorne and surrounding towns.
