Compass Associates are delighted to be partnering with a leading healthcare services organisation on the recruitment of an experienced Programme Manager to join their UK leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to join a growing and evolving healthcare organisation and play a key role in shaping the delivery of strategic programmes, business change and service improvement across the organisation.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, operational, clinical and corporate teams to ensure programmes are delivered effectively while identifying opportunities to improve existing processes, services and ways of working.
The Role
As Programme Manager, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and work as part of the UK leadership team.
You will lead a diverse portfolio of strategic programmes, projects and business change initiatives, ensuring effective governance, delivery, risk management and benefits realisation.
A key focus of the role will be to review existing programmes and service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement and take ownership of implementing new processes and ways of working across the organisation.
The organisation is entering a period of growth, with a number of new contracts and services coming into operation.
This provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to have a genuine influence on how programmes and business change are delivered as the organisation continues to develop.
Key Responsibilities

Lead complex programmes and projects from initiation through to implementation and benefits realisation.

Manage multiple workstreams, programme plans, critical paths, milestones and delivery schedules.

Establish and maintain effective programme governance and reporting frameworks.

Manage programme risks, issues and dependencies, maintaining RAID logs and mitigation plans.

Produce clear and concise reports for senior stakeholders, the Executive Team and Board.

Build strong relationships with operational, clinical and corporate teams.

Engage and influence senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Support the delivery of service mobilisations, transformation initiatives and operational improvement programmes.

Review previous programmes and mobilisations to identify opportunities to improve future delivery.

Lead the implementation of agreed business improvements across the organisation.

Coordinate communication, engagement, seminars and training to support the successful implementation of change.

Develop implementation, transition and operational readiness plans.

Monitor programme performance and ensure agreed operational, service and financial benefits are achieved.

Support programme budget management, resource planning, forecasting and financial reporting.

Promote continuous improvement and programme management best practice across the organisation.

Capture lessons learned and use these to improve future programme delivery.
Requirements
-
Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
-
Recognised programme or project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, MSP Foundation or equivalent.

Significant experience delivering complex programmes, projects or business change initiatives.

Experience managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
-
Experience developing programme governance frameworks and executive reporting.
-
Experience managing programme risks, budgets and delivery plans.
-
Experience supporting organisational change and implementation activities.
-
Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
-
Strong understanding of programme governance, risk management and benefits realisation.
-
Previous NHS experience is highly important for this position.
Desirable
-
Experience within healthcare or another regulated environment.

Experience of contract or service mobilisation.

Experience working with NHS commissioners or ICBs.
-
MSP Practitioner.
-
Agile PM Practitioner.
-
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.

Change Management qualification.

Salary up to £75,000 per annum.

Working Pattern & Location
-
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.

Hybrid working with no fixed number of office days.

Candidates can be home-based or work from one of the organisation's service centres.

Regular travel to sites and stakeholder locations will be required.

London travel may be required approximately once or twice per month.
-
The preferred location is Milton Keynes or South, with London and surrounding areas also considered.
